FULL – Mezzaluna Beginner Sport Climbing

Hey everyone!

Jemma and I (Amelia K) will be leading a beginner friendly sport climbing trip to Mezzaluna Area at Mt York in the Blue Mountains next Saturday. You can check out the crag page here to see if anything catches your fancy. Whether you are looking to climb outdoors for the first time or possibly want to learn to lead climb or belay this is the trip for you!

It will be an all day event, we will arrange car pooling to head up to the Blue Mountains early on Saturday morning and will return to Sydney late, so please let us know in the sign up comment whether you have a car and how many people you can take.

What to bring:

• 2L water
• Food/snacks for the day
• Sunscreen/hat
• Warm clothes!
• Harness*
• Helmet*
• Belay device (eg ATC)*
• Locking carabiner*
• Climbing shoes*
• Chalk (optional)
• Bag to fit everything listed above and some of the shared gear we will bring

Items marked * can be borrowed from the UNSWOC gear cupboard for free (since this is a club trip), you just need to pay a security deposit. The cupboard opens Thursdays 5-6pm and is located on campus here. You can make a booking for gear rental on the website under the ‘Gear’ tab.
