Macquarie Pass Weekend Warriors Mission

Hey fellow weekend warriors!

Canyoning season has started and Maria and I are running a trip through Macquarie Pass canyon on sunday 15.10.

This is a very scenic canyon with waterfall abseils, water jumps, some short constrictions and scenic view. The water is warmer than in the Blueies so hopefully not too cold as we will have quite a few swims. This will be a great day out so get in on it!

This trip involves quite a few abseils and we may do both sections of this canyon which would be a long day. This means you will definitely have to be fit and confident scrambling. Abseiling experience is preferred, however, we might have a few beginner spots so please include your experience when you sign up (fill out the comment box in addition to ticking the box please)!

What you will need to bring:

• harness*
• helmet*
• safety + biner*
• atc + biner*
• prussik*
• backpack that can get wet
• drybag (this is important for spare clothes and your food! I strongly recommend to buy, e.g. at anaconda https://www.anacondastores.com/camping-hiking/packs-bags/dry-bags-storage/sea-to-summit-dry-sack/p/BP90028599001, these come in handy on almost any outdoor trip)
• runners that may get trashed
• wetsuit*
• thermals if you get cold easily for under your wetsuit
• spare clothes to change into afterwards (incl. thongs or shoes)
• lunch and snacks!
• at least 1.5l of water
• adventure spirit and heaps of good mood!

IMPORTANT:

We will need cars to get to the start of the canyon so please contact either Maria (Maria Lastra Cagigas) or me (Steffi Quijote) if you have a car (also tick the box in the sign up form). This is crucial for the trip to go ahead.

You have to be a member to attend this trip.

This is a whole day affair (leave Sydney 6-7am, get back sometime in the evening).
