Learn Releasable Rigging for Canyoning and Abseiling!

This is the sign up form for the learning releasable rigging workshop I’ll be running at the ledge!

What are releasable anchors?! In simple terms we’ll be learning how to set an abseil such that you can lower a stuck abseiler or manage your rope over a sharp edge. It’s a safer option to have more redundancies! Essentially it’s an incredibly useful piece of knowledge that you should definitely have your head wrapped around for canyoning and abseiling! Remember climbers, you often have to abseil too!!

During this session we will:

• Learn what releasable systems are
• Learn how to rig various different releasable systems
• Learn when to use different techniques

What you’ll need (don’t worry if you don’t have anything, but it’ll help me a lot if you do 🙂 )

• your descender/belay device of choice (don’t worry if you don’t have one)
• One locking carabiner
• one quickdraw
• if you’ve got a figure 8 descender device that would be awesome but not necessary

We’ll aim to start at 6:30 and then just keep going until everyone feels confident!
