Photo: From when I made the mistake of attempting this walk on a 39-degree day. We spent about 20 minutes recovering at the Aldi on the way back.

Hellooooo!
Callum and I (Sudarshan) will be leading an intermediate hike through the Tahmoor Gorge (about 1.5h south of Sydney) this Sunday.
It’s honestly just a cool walk – lovely pools and waterfalls, and a little bit of untracked rock scrambling through the gorge and overgrown bush.
It has a total length of about 10km, but expect to take about 5 hours as we wind our way along the canyon floor.
This trail will require good fitness as there are some off-track sections and rock scrambling and is not beginner friendly.
Check out the track in this video here.
What to bring:
- Sturdy shoes! They might get wet when crossing the river.
- Small-medium sized backpack to hold your belongings
- At least 2L of water
- Lunch and snacks for the day
- Raincoat – this walk will continue even if it is raining.
- Sun protection: sunscreen + hat
- Any personal medication you may need
- Change of clothes IF you want to swim
- *The pool in the picture is a sacred site, however there are plenty of other spots along the gorge.
So, if you are keen for a hike, please tell usย your hiking experience so far, your worst hot-weather story (just so we know youโve read all this information) and whether you have a carย in your comment belowโฆ and get in early before signups are full.
Note: Please friend-request me on Facebook after you sign up, my profile here – we will be making a group chat to coordinate carpooling.
If you have any questions, feel free to message me on FB above.
