red-trackThought you’d reach your low point on the saturday night of BL??? Wrong. The lowest point will be in the broad daylight of saturday, if you do the Red Track. A somewhat dubious internet source told me that the bottom of Bungonia Gorge is the lowest point on mainland Australia. And that’s where we are headed.

It’s a 6km hike (borderline dry canyon), but will take about 5-6 hours. Lots of route-finding and rock scrambling involved. A decent level of fitness and adventurous-ness is required.

Gear list:

  • Hiking shoes
  • Backpack
    • Hat
    • Sunscreen
    • min. 1.5L water
    • Lunch
