Hey everyone 🙂
Dave Morrison and I are leading a trip to Macquarie Pass canyon this Saturday. I haven’t done it before and its been awhile since Dave has done it, so we will only take 4 people, and you have to have done at least 1-2 vertical canyons before and be comfortable abseiling (and not completely necessary but preferable: know how to set up your own leg-loop self-belay prussik).
We need 2 cars and currently only have one, so preference will be given to people who can drive!
I’m planning to head to the Blueys straight after the canyon, so hopefully everyone else will be able to fit into the second car.
Things to bring:
- harness
- helmet
- belay device
- safety sling and locking biner
- prussiks and biners for them
- closed shoes and woollen socks
- Dry warm clothing (in a dry bag)
- Rain jacket/windbreaker if you have it + beanie if you get cold easily
- lunch and water
- head torch (also in dry bag) with full/spare batteries
- backpack to carry it all in
- WETSUIT (and possibly thermals to wear underneath)
