Hey!

Do you love hiking, climbing and all that outdoor goodness but wish you knew more about the trees, birds and pretty flowers around you??

Come and join Ash and I for a cruisy walk around Bradley’s Head where I can show you some of the edible and medicinal native plants growing in the middle of your city.

If everyone is a keen-bean after we finish our stroll we can do a bit of a workshop on how to make bush rope out of tree bark and potentially i can try and show you a little matchless fire making demo (successful fire making not guaranteed).

where: meeting at the Taronga Zoo Warf and taking a slow stroll across to Sirius Cove Beach

when: 3:30pm-5ish

what do you need: typical stuff to go on a casual stroll: -enclosed shoes, a hat, something to chew on in case your hungry and a note pad/pen if you want to write anything down

*Apologies for keeping the group size small on this one….but I’ll be doing a few of these in different places this year if the first one goes well.*

FAQ

Are we going to scramble in the wilderness?

Nope we’ll basically be on a wooden walkway or path the entire time.  Bring your walking shoes and you will be fine.

Is this suitable for less mobile people?

Yes, if you can walk up a flight of stairs and on a fire trail comfortably then you’ll be fine where we’re going 🙂

Are we going to be harvesting plants?

Nah, we’ll only collect a few berries or flowers here and there depending on what’s around and available. The main aim of the workshop is to give you some knowledge so that when you go back home you can recognise some useful plants in your own garden/surroundings.
