We are heading out for an overnight walk from Faulconbridge to Blaxland on the weekend. It is a very short distance for a two day walk but should be quite scenic.
A general level of fitness is essential. No overnight hiking experience is necessary but you will need to organise your own gear including:
- Pack
- Tent
- Warm clothing including rain jacket and enclosed shoes
- Winter Sleeping bag(although it may seem warm in Sydney at the moment it is still winter, it will be very cold in the mountains overnight)
- Sleeping mat
- Food (2x breakfast, 2x lunch, 1x dinner and snacks)
- Stove (we can share these, if you don’t have one let me know, you will need something hot to eat to stay warm)
The general plan will be to catch the 7.18 am train on the blue mountains line from central station –we will meet on the top floor of the second to last carriage. If you wish to catch the train further along the line or drive yourself there please let me know so I will know where to expect you. From there we will walk, camp overnight walk more and then catch the train back from Blaxland station on Sunday.
Please note that if you are not a financial member of the club or haven’t signed up to the trip on the club website you are not covered by insurance…..and therefore we can’t be friends. The only cost involved is for your own train tickets, there is no camping fee. Any questions send me an email via the club website or the club facebook page.
