Hey all,

I’m thinking I’d like to just wander off into the bush behind camp on Saturday and go exploring.

I have a few ideas in mind (Red Rocks, Cooks Cliff-Baldy traverse, some interesting looking spots on satellite photos in the area) that we can decide on the day, based on the weather, and what people are excited on.

The distance should not be huge, less than 10km, and I like to be back in camp by 3pm to relax and be on time for the party, so this should be a short to moderate day.

However, don’t think that means this won’t be pretty tough going – please expect serious bush bashing and difficult off-track walking and scrambling, with some exposure to heights. I have no doubt we will end up covered in dirt and waist deep in scrub sliding around on a 45 degree slope. Fortunately, there are no ticks in the upper Blue Mountains (hooray!) however there might be leeches.
