Experienced Day Hike – Lindeman Pass

Please note: This is an Expression of Interest and as always, the trip may need to be postponed at short notice due to weather issues or other circumstances 🙂

The Lindeman Pass “skirts the top of the talus slope through the Jamison valley, giving unobstructed, unique views of the valley”.

It will be a fun time, going behind waterfalls and with great views! 🌄

However, it is a hard unmaintained and remote walking track along the base of the Leura cliffline. The track will be vague and overgrown in places. You must have reasonable experience with hard walks.

I see the above posts and think “wow fun trip”. If you are the same then read on!

My plan is mapped here ~12km and about 1000m elevation gain in total, Saturday 19th July (Week 7 of term).

We would meet in Southern Leura:

• Head to the base of Leura Falls via amphitheatre track.
• Continue along Lindeman’s beneath Gordon Falls to Sublime Point.
• Take the nose (Southern) pass up Sublime Point.
• Return to Leura via Pool of Siloam.

If you would be keen to join, please let me know in the comments:

• If you have a car and would be interested in driving up.
  • Walking to/from Leura station only adds 1km each way so cars are not compulsory.
• Prior hiking experience (any off-track? most elevation in a day?)
• This track has a closure at some point (see NPWS website). Why does this closure not affect the planned route?
  • This replaces the classic “if you would be an animal for a day” question, I guess 😆

Full disclosure: I have not walked this track before. I have gone past it several times and thought it would be a fun trip. The group size for this trip will probably be max 5 participants just to keep it manageable.
