Those Dam Cliffs! – Beginners Climbing

Heya Guys and Girls,

Vicky, Andrew, Alie and Brendan will be running a beginners climbing trip the Sunday of Boree Log. There will be top ropes, deep water soloing and cliff jumping. We will open more spaces (up to 25) as people with cars sign up (so please message me if you have a car when you sign up!).

You will be packing up everything Sunday morning at Boree and we’re leaving from Dam Cliffs to home that arvo. Don’t worry about securing a lift as we will make sure we have enough cars for everyone to get there and home on this trip

Also important, you must learn how to tie a rethreaded figure of 8, or you will die! See here: Re-threaded Figure 8

Of course YOU MUST HAVE an experienced climber CHECK your figure 8 knot and the belay device set up (which we’ll teach you on the day) BEFORE YOU EVEN THINK OF STEPPING OFF THE GROUND, so don’t worry, we’ll make sure you have it correct and are safe. You may have to watch the video a couple of times to get the re-threading just right. Practice with shoe laces or whatever cord you can find.

GEAR REQUIRED

Can be borrowed on Sunday morning at camp
– Helmet
– Belay Plate and Carabiner
– Harness
– Climbing Shoes

Also required (bring yourself)
– Petrol Money for yo driver
–Warm Clothes
– Swimmers/towel if you want
– 1.5L of Water (I mean it!)
–Food & Lollies and chocolate for erbody, especially your hardworking trip leaders!
