Caving Skills Workshop [FULL]

Practical caving skills workshop for anyone attending Wee Japper-looza 2025 and needs some practise in caving specific toys and techniques.

Will be playing on some itty bitty cliffs known as Middle Cove Crag” on The Crag.

Stuff we’ll cover:

• Using a Petzl Stop and Rack descender
• Prusiking with mechanical ascenders
• Ladder (wire ladder) climbing (including top/bottom belay)
• Funky caving knots like Bowline on a bite and Fusion knot
• Rebelays of varying difficulty
• Redirects
• Passing a knot
• Not being a muppet underground 🤣

Bring good vibes and snacks to share.

Also bring (if you have them):

  • Personal safety/cows tail
  • Spare carabiners
  • Gloves
  • Chest harness
