Hey Guys and Gals,
I will be running a caving trip this weekend down at Bungonia.
Caving is cool, but if you don’t want to do that, we will also boulder, as we hear there is some awesome easy stuff nearby, so bring your climbing shoes.
I’ll be getting down on Saturday morning at 10am, and my phone number is 0421572445 if you need to call me. If you aren’t there by 11ish you will probably miss out on the first cave!
There will be caves run both days, so feel free to turn up for Sunday, but we might be in a cave already if you show up too late!
If you haven’t caved before:
- You will need a headtorch
- You will NEED a headtorch
- You will absolutely 100% need a headtorch
- I’m not kidding, get a headtorch
- Change of batteries for said headtorch
- Clothes that will get outrageously filthy which COVER YOUR ELBOWS AND KNEES (We might be able to get some overalls for you if you arrange with us beforehand)
- Shoes that will get outrageously filthy. Go and buy a pair of cheap dunlop volleys from Target. You will DESTROY your sneakers.
- We will be camping and it will be cold. You will need to organize tents and sleeping bags. No I will not do it for you.
- Camping at the campground is $10 per night per person (minimum two people booking). I would suggest booking here ahead of time, otherwise you may not get a camping spot: https://nsw.rezexpert.com/book?business_code=500291
- Food – Cooking facilities are available at the campsite, but it will be busy so you might have to wait a while for a spot.
- Toilets and showers are at the campsite
- Bring your climbing harness in case we do a vertical cave (depends on skill levels on the day)
- It is pretty hard to get to the campsite without a car, and there is a $7 per car per day fee. Suggest carpooling, organise on the Facebook page.
