Hello friends!
As an extension for Boree Log, Mali and I (Ange) will be headed down to the North Black Range for some camping + bouldering, about an hour out of Canberra. We’re hoping to go camp from Sunday night after Boree and leave Tuesday night after some bouldering during the day. We’d love some company from some other keen boulderer beans, ideally self-sufficient peeps with experience with bouldering outdoors. It’s a seriously sick playground of (slightly mossy) granite boulders that is tough on the skin but has friction that keeps you on like no other.
A guide is available on the crag here and we also have the electronic guide book if anyone wants to have a look – shoot me a message!
We will be camping nearby at the Mulloon Creek Campground, this to be self organised if coming. For those who would be keen, please bring your own pads or organise to borrow and transport club pads as Mali and I will not have the capacity to bring more than what we’ll need for the trip. This is basically a placeholder event to let people know that this is happening but everything else will actually be organised later 😀
Pics to show you some of the cool formations you’ll see at the range and a very peak happiness Mali
What to bring:
- Water for the entirety of the trip
- Food – breakfasts, lunches, dinners
- Warm clothing
- Camping stuff
- Tent
- Sleeping bag
- Sleeping mat
- Stove etc…….
- Shoes
- Chalk Bags
- Boulder pads
- Sun protection
In the comments let us know your experience with bouldering indoors/outdoors, if you’re bringing a pad, and the animal you’ve been most excited to see with your own eyes in the wild. Also please let us know if you have a car and if so, how many people you can give a lift.
Any questions, please feel free to shoot Mali or I (Angela) a message on Facebook!
