Hey,
Jenny and I are running a beginners canyoning trip on the Sunday of Boree Log.
Here are some pics from Oz Ultimate to get you interested…
Twister and Rocky are two canyons that we can combine. Twister is like a obstacle course with a few fun jumps and Rocky is really beautiful so we can take some time to explore it.
It’ll be beginner friendly, there’s no abseils and no eels.
You will need to bring:
- Lunch
- Water (I recommend at least 2L)
- A drybag (these cost about $12, from Kathmandu/ Anaconda/ Macpac), I’d recommend 15L – 20L if your interested in getting into canyoning, but any size is fine. It’s just to keep your clothes and lunch dry, and maybe camera.
- A backpack
- Shoes that won’t get slippery when wet (I wear normal runners)
- Wool tops (for under the wetsuit), wool/synthetic socks and beanie for keep you and your tootsies warm. Avoid cotton clothes in the canyon.
- Wetsuits can be borrowed from the club at Boree Log
To join:
Request to join on this website, and also message me on facebook (facebook.com/liam.hayes.71) and let me know if you’ve done a canyon before, if it’s your first Boree Log, if you’ve got a car and your favourite deep sea creature 🙂
See you then!
Liam.
