Boree Log Sunday Beginner Canyon – Serendipity

Yet another beginner canyoning trip! If you’ve missed out so far, now is your chance 😉

We can walk there from the campsite, so no need to worry about car transport. You will need to abseil so ideally try and practice this before you come. You’ll also need to be reasonably fit and able to walk on uneven, slippery terrain.

REQUIRED equipment:

– Closed-toe shoes, ideally dunlop volleys but runners will do (no crocs or thongs!)

– A day pack to carry your stuff (and if it’s big enough to also carry a rope then that’s a plus!)

– Water bottles (at least 2 1L bottles)

– Lunch and snacks – it shouldn’t be a long day, but you never do know when you’re canyoning!

– Something warm, ideally thermals (top and bottom), beanie and a rain jacket

– Board shorts or similar to wear over your wetsuit and protect it from scrapes

– A torch and spare batteries, ideally a headtorch

– Something to keep your warm clothes, lunch and headtorch dry in your bag. Ideally a dry bag, or else just bring lots of plastic garbage bags

If you have them, please also bring a wetsuit, harness, helmet, descent device such as an ATC, carabiner and sling or accessory cord for safety.
