Heya Guys and Girls,
Nicola, Timo and I will be running a beginners climbing trip this weekend in the Blue Mountains. The exact crag is yet to be decided. You can be a complete beginner, but I would recommend you have been indoor climbing at least 3 or 4 times to be able to get something out of it and get up stuff!
Meeting at the South West corner of the Physics Lawn UNSW at 7:30am to carpool up there, please fb message me if you have a car or any questions.
Also important, you must learn how to tie a rethreaded figure of 8, or you will die! See here: Re-threaded Figure 8
Of course you must have an experienced climber check your figure 8 knot and the belay device set up (which we’ll teach you on the day) before you even think about stepping off the ground, so don’t worry, we’ll make sure you have it correct and are safe. You may have to watch the video a couple of times to get the re-threading just right. Practice with shoe laces or whatever cord you can find.
