Cascade Falls
On Sunday, Oliver and I (Nick) will be leading a trip through Cascade Falls canyon. It is a day with plenty of abseils to practice your abseiling technique on. All abseils can be walked around, so if you’re not up to one of them, we can find you a way around, so that you can continue the canyon.
For this trip you will need:
- 2L Water
- Suitable lunch
- Wetsuit *
- Helmet *
- Harness *
- Descending device (ATC or Figure 8) *
- Sling *
- 3 x Locking carabiners *
- Drybag *
- Backpack (20L+ will do)
- Old pair of shorts or boardshorts (these go over your wetsuit to protect the wetsuit).
- Comfortable shoes that will get wet.
- Rainjacket (keep in your drybag)
- Emergency blanket * (these can be purchased for $5 on Saturday morning for you to keep. This is wholesale cost price.)
Items with a (*) can be borrowed from UNSWOC on Sunday morning.
Please leave a comment with how keen you are and any outdoors experience you’re had in the past.
Additionally we will be organising COVID safe transport back to Sydney right from the event, so please let us know if you have a car and how many spaces you have in the comments. Keen to see y’all this Boree Log!
Cheers,
Nick and Oliver.
