Hey everyone,
Jenny, Tad, Peta and I (Jack) will be leading a trad climbing trip to Mount Piddington (located in Mt Victoria) this Sunday! This is a classic crag with some awesome cracks, and good routes at all grades.
Piddo is a predominantly trad climbing area, and if you are interested we’d be happy to teach you about trad climbing, and give you the opportunity to lead some easy routes. Or if you’d prefer to spend the day top roping that’s cool too!
We will meet up at 9:30am on Sunday morning at the Mt Piddington parking area near Mt Victoria. If you are travelling by public transport, we can arrange to pick you up from the train station.
Please include in the comments: your climbing experience, whether you are able to drive and what climbing gear you already own. Any gear that you require must be collected independently from the gear cupboard at UNSW on the regular gear night.
- Gear: harness, helmet, climbing shoes, ATC + carabiner (if you have your own make sure you bring it!!!).
- What to bring: sunscreen, 2L water (minimum!), food for the day, sporty clothes, a warm jacket, a day backpack to fit all your stuff inside, camera, smiles, etc.
- Meeting point: 9:30am at the parking area at the end of Mt Piddington Road, Mt Victoria
Please be aware that as the weather is unpredictable, trip leaders may need to alter trips accordingly. If you have any questions, feel free to message any of us on Facebook.
