FULL – Beginner Sport Climbing – Berowra

Hey Everyone!

Gabriel and I (Amelia V) will be leading a beginner friendly sport climbing trip on Sunday November 24th to Berowra.  It’s a great place for all skill and experience levels as there are a range of grades and styles. We will be setting up top ropes for most the climbs so no experience is required, only a keen attitude! If you’d like to learn some more advanced skills like lead climbing or even some self rescue, let us know in the comments, we’re more than happy to teach.

We review all trip sign ups and you’ll receive an automated email if you get accepted or rejected for the trip. If you’ve been accepted, check Messenger as we will make a group chat with all the participants. If you’re having issues signing up, check that you’re logged in and have a paid membership. In terms of transport, we will organise carpooling in the group chat. Please note that this will be an all day adventure.

Things to bring:

• Harness*
• Helmet*
• ATC with a carabiner*
• Safety sling*
• Climbing shoes*
• Lunch, snacks
• At least 2L Water
• Hat, sunscreen
• Jacket
• Medications if you need them (asthma puffer, epi-pen etc.)
• Any sport climbing gear you may own
• Good vibes!

* Gear can be borrowed from the gear cupboard, usually on Thursday 5-6pm. Please check UNSWOC Facebook page for latest gear shed details

If you’d like to come along, in the comment box below, please put your climbing experience, your messenger/facebook profile link (so we can get in contact with you if you’re approved). If you have a car, tell us how many car spots you have and where you’d be driving from. Lastly, let us know your favourite dessert! (If you don’t like desserts, then favourite desert is acceptable)
