Beginner Sport Climbing @ Bangor West

Do you need an excuse to not study for exams? Me too! Come join us for a bit of fun at Bangor West on Saturday. It’s some chill climbing that doesn’t take multiple hours to get to. The walls are pretty short (~10m), but still a good time. We’re posting this pretty late, so get in quick and grab what you need from the gear cupboard on Thursday. We will grab some helmets and harnesses for late sign ups, so if there are spots left you can still sign up even if you missed the gear cupboard.

We will set up top-ropes, and we are also happy for people to lead. We can help people with limited leading experience get some practice mock leading. Whether you have never climbed before or have a decent bit of experience, there will be something you will enjoy. Grades range from 13 to 24. To be let on the trip, let us know which exam you will be procrastinating in your comment. If you don’t have exams let us know what other important things you plan on ignoring to climb some rocks.

What To Bring:

• Harness *
• Helmet *
• Climbing Shoes *
• Enclosed shoes for the approach
• Some warm clothes
• A backpack for your stuff and whatever gear we make you carry
• Lunch and snacks
• Minimum 2L water
• Any medications you need
• Any extra gear you want

Items with a * can be borrowed from the gear cupboard. Micah and i will borrow the ropes, quickdraws, belay devices, quads and some slings from the gear cupboard.
