Hey there crushers,
Amelia K and I (Keith) will be leading a beginner sport climbing trip on Saturday the 15th of March to Wakehurst Parkway Steep side Crag. It’s located about 10 minutes drive from Narrabeen lake or about a 50 minute drive from campus.
No climbing experience is required! Amelia and I will set up some top rope climbs for everyone and for those who are more advanced, we will help you project some of the harder climbs at the crag. This is a great opportunity to get out and touch some grass as well as learn some new climbing skills.
The crag carpark for this location is quite small and also a little sketchy to park at so we will organise carpooling to get to this location. The carpark is located HERE .
What to bring:
Water – at least 2L
Food – lunch and snacks
Helmet*
Harness*
Belay device and carabiner*
Climbing shoes* (optional but highly recommended)
Rain jacket and warm clothes
Comfortable shoes to walk in
Sunscreen
Insect repellent
Your favourite stuffed animal
* These items can be borrowed from the gear cupboard on Thursday night!
If you’re interested, please sign up with a comment that includes: any climbing experience you have, whether you have a car and how many spare seats you’d have, and what stuffed animal you’ll be bringing. Once approved, we’ll add you to a group chat to give any other required info and organise carpooling – please make sure that your facebook profile link is either in your account or added to your comment to make our job easier here!
If you’ve got any questions or concerns, feel free to message Amelia or I (Keith) on Facebook.
See you there!
