Howdy folks,
So we decided to combine the two weekend hikes, in part due to the high probability of heavy rain.
From Garrett’s trip post
“
The Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park is a great place for a hike. We will walk from Berowra station to Cowan Creek and then along the creek until making our way up to Mt Ku-ring-gai station. About 10 km in all with 600 m of elevation gain (5-6 hours).
Details!
Meeting time/place: I will be leaving on the 7:45 am train from Central (Platform 8) to get to Berowra station at 8:31. I am taking the train back home from Mt Ku-ring-gai station.
Gear to bring:
Backpack: To carry all the stuff outlined below
Rain Jacket!: It’s going to be rainy most of the day.
Comfortable hiking shoes: Nothing fancy. Just something that can get wet/dirty, won’t give you blisters, and wont fall apart
Hiking clothes: Long pants and long sleeves are recommended to protect from the bush.
Additional clothes: Spare warm clothes so you don’t get cold
Lunch and snacks: You know, Food! (Chocolate, nuts, sandwiches, fruit, whatever you like…)
2 L Water: Yes, bring at least 2 L. There is not likely any water on our route
Hat/sunblock: Australia gives you cancer
Headlamp/torch: Shouldn’t need it, but carry one anyway
Your strong legs: 10 km hike with some steep bits. Are you fit enough?”
get in touch with me if you have any queries, and hope to see you there!
Cheerio,
Samuel
