Hello everyone!

Marcus and Linna will run a beginner climbing trip on Sunday the 21st of July where we will be travelling down to The Shire to clip some bolts. Only 45 minutes drive from UNSW, Bonnet Bay has some great easy to intermediate climbs that we can tackle including a chimney and a few cracks!

What’s the plan?

Get down to Bonnet Bay by train (Jannali station) or carpool on Sunday morning, spend a great day climbing, head back to Sydney in the evening.

What do I need to bring?

Climbing gear:

• Harness*
• Climbing Shoes*
• Helmet*
• Belay device and locking carabiner*
• Chalk Bag (optional but recommended)

Other:

• At least 2L of water
• Food and snacks for the day
• Sunscreen
• Personal medicines (epipen, antihistamines, etc.)
• Comfortable shoes for the crag + warm jacket (the approach is a 30 second walk)
• Cash for petrol for your driver or an Opal card for the train

How do I sign up?

In the comment box: state your climbing grades and experience (indoor & outdoor), whether you have a car and where you’ll be driving from. If you are accepted, a Messenger group chat will be made so be sure to link your Facebook in your website profile and check your message requests.
