Beginner Canyon – Jugglers Canyon (dry) – Sunday 13th July 2025

Hi everyone!

Cornellius and I (Michael) will be running a beginner’s canyoning trip through Jugglers canyon! Jugglers is a super pleasant (mostly dry) canyon near the Grand Canyon at Medlow Bath.

This is a whole day adventure so you need to be fit! It’s alright if you have not abseiled before, we can show you the ropes. Please fill out the form when you sign up and comment with your experience (if you don’t have rope skills, just comment what other outdoor activities you have done) and your favorite outdoors snack so we know you’ve read the brief (preferably also bring it to the canyon 😀 )!

This is a dry canyon so we don’t expect to get too wet (possibly wet feet, but probably no swims), but it will still be chilly, so bring warm clothing. I usually wear thermals, a pair of old shorts/pants, a warm shirt and a rain jacket on top. Synthetic or woolen clothing is best, avoid cotton. Please if you do own thermals bring them!! They make a massive difference and will make the trip a lot more enjoyable if you find yourself getting cold. Remember you can always take them off, but there’s not much you can do if you haven’t brought them at all.

Please ensure you bring ALL the gear listed below:

• Harness*
• Helmet*
• 2x Locking carabiners*
• 1x Figure 8 descender*
• 1x Safety sling*
• Emergency blanket – (can buy from Gear Cupboard for $5 or from chemists, shops, etc)
• Backpack that can get wet
• Headtorch (if you don’t have a head torch, bring at least some kind of torch)
• Drybag*
• Runners that may get trashed
• Thermals and woolen or synthetic socks (don’t wear ANY cotton, you will be miserably cold if you get wet!)
• Spare set of thermals to carry in your drybag (for emergencies)
• Rain jacket
• Lunch and snacks!
• At least 2L of water
• Medication (asthma puffer, Epipen etc)
• Dry clothes and shoes for the car ride back
• Adventure spirit and heaps of good mood!
