Beginner Bouldering – Lindfield Rocks

Hey everyone, it’s been a little while since the club has run a bouldering trip so Micah and I (Oscar) have decided to change that. We’ll be heading out to Lindfield Rocks, in Lindfield (who would have thought) this Saturday for a chill morning of climbing and enjoying the rock. We will aim to get there at 9:00 am, spend a couple hours climbing and will try to wrap up around ~3pm.

This a beginner trip so no outdoor climbing experience is required. We’ll demonstrate good spotting and pad laying technique to teach how to boulder outdoors safely.

The crag has a good selection of V0s – V2s so we’ll work out which climbs everyone wants to do on the day depending on the experience of the group.

What to bring: 

• Climbing shoes* + chalk (optional)
• 2L of water
• Food
• Sunscreen
• Jacket (it will most likely be quite cold early in the morning)
• Walking shoes

* Can be hired from the gear cupboard on Thursday

We will be bringing the club’s bouldering mats but if you own one feel free to bring it along, the more mats the merrier 🙂
