Are you psyched to start caving, canyoning and climbing but don’t yet feel comfortable abseiling? If so, this trip is for you!
Linna and I (Mali) will be leading a trip to Clovelly to run through the basics of abseiling. This trip will be most suitable for beginners, but if you’re also interested in learning about abseil anchors we may also have space for you!
Expect to learn basic abseiling technique, cliff safety, third-hands (if we have time).
Things to pack:
- Water
- HEADTORCH (sunset is early now!)
- Snacks
- Warm Jacket & rain jacket (it won’t be warm)
- Comfortable enclosed shoes
- Helmet, harness, descending device, safety sling, 2x locking carabiners (as this trip will be before the gear night, we’ll try grab these for you)
Clovelly is a bus trip away from UNSW, we’ll be meeting at 4pm and aiming to finish by 6. Bring your smiles and maybe a camera for those nice sunset pics!
Be sure to leave a comment below telling us why you’re interested in abseiling and where your favourite beach is.
