2.5 canyons for the price of 1! (kind of) (beginner canyon)

Hey keen beans!

Ewa and me are leading a trip on saturday through Geronimo AND horseshoe canyon (AND bits of the wollangambe). This is going to be a super awesome trip! Both Geronimo and horseshoe have nice constrictions and fun abseils – you’ll abseil like a pro after this. 🙂

This is a whole day adventure so you need to be fit (there are 3 quite large hills to climb!) and able to swim as there are some long swims at the end of the day in the Wollangambe! It’s alright if you have not abseiled before, we can show you the ropes. Please fill out the form when you sign up and comment with your experience (if you don’t have rope skills, just comment what other outdoor activities you have done) and your favorite outdoors snack (preferably also bring it to the canyon 😀 )!

What you need:

• harness*
• helmet*
• safety + biner*
• atc + biner*
• backpack that can get wet(*)
• wetsuits*
• headtorch (if you dont have a head torch, bring at least some kind of torch – it gets dark early these days!)
• drybag (this is important for spare clothes and your food! I strongly recommend to buy one, e.g. at anaconda https://www.anacondastores.com/camping-hiking/packs-bags/dry-bags-storage/sea-to-summit-dry-sack/p/BP90028599001, these come in handy on almost any outdoor trip)
• runners that may get trashed
• thermals and woolen or synthetic socks (dont wear ANY cotton, you will be miserably cold!)
• spare set of thermals to carry in your drybag (for emergencies)
• if you get cold easily bring a rain jacket to put over your wetsuit
• lunch and snacks!
• at least 2l of water
• dry clothes and shoes for the car ride back
• adventure spirit and heaps of good mood!

*you can get this from the club on gear night (check the fb page, most likely wednesday night)

We will leave Sydney very early (6-7am!) and we really need some drivers so please let me know if you have a car!
