75 years, Many clubs, One heritage.

1944 - The Sydney Technical College Bushwalkers' Club was established on 12 October 1944 (CN209, Walks Secretary's Report 1945).

1949 - New South Wales University of Technology gains its statutory status. This is the effective birth of UNSW.

1967 - The idea of a Mountaineering and Climbing Club was first conceived by Andrew Pavey. Initially entitled the "Climbing & Mountaineering Society" (CAMS), the name was soon changed to the Mountaineering & Climbing Club (MACC).

1951 - The University begins it move from STC's location to the current Kensington location.

1952 - A new club (primarily aimed at day students) called the NSW University of Technology Bushwalkers' Club was also established on 16 March 1951 .

1956 - From the meeting of 6 December 1956 the STC Bushwalkers' Club appears to have taken on the name "the University of Technology (STC) Bushwalkers Club". It is unclear from the records as to whether the two clubs merged or if the first NSWUT club had ceased to exist at this point, but the renamed UT Bushwalkers' Club continued with the same office bearers and activities of the former STC Bushwalkers' Club without any apparent input from the former NSWUT Bushwalkers' Club.

1958 - The university name is changed to "University of New South Wales"

1978 - On 3 October 1978 the Club held an extraordinary general meeting, which approved the amalgamation of the the Bushwalking club and the Mountaineering Club to form a new Bushwalking and Mountaineering Club.

2003 - Name of the Club Changed to "UNSW Outdoors Club"
