Let’s go to the highest place in Australia! On Ski’s!
We will be renting AT ski’s from Rythm in Cooma. These are very cool, as you can ski downhill style going down, and then unclip the heel to walk up hills, or along the flat. So you do not need to know how to XC ski, but they are quite expensive to hire (~$200). Because of that we will try to use them for as long as possible. Plan is to go up Thursday Night, and return Monday night, giving us 3.5 days of skiing, and taking advantage of the long weekend. If this turns out to be a problem then we can change it to leaving Friday night.
Plan is to go up from dead horse gap, and basically do a tour of the Main Range stopping along the way at the Ramsheads, Kosciusko, and end at Thredbo, using a car shuffle.
