Hey Bike Fans!

October 14th/15th we will be riding from Gosford to Newcastle. A great 100km ride to show how easy and fine bike touring can be.

Starting at 9am at central station will be get a train then ride to Freeman Campground, spend the night, then ride into Newcastle the next day. Once in Newcastle we can either train back or grab dinner at an awesome brewery/pizza place.

About half the route is on off road shared paths and the other half on sealed shoulders of a highway. If you are not comfortable riding adjacent to cars this might not be suitable for you.

What you need to bring:

A working bike. If your bike hasn’t been inspected by a club trip leader or a mechanic from the bike club you can not come along. This rule is for your safety so you don’t break down on a highway.

spare bike tube, patch kit, multi tool

Sleeping gear (mats, bags)

Riding clothes

Warm clothes for night

Water bottles. There is drinking water alone the way and at the campground

Food. We are riding through towns and suburbs so you don’t need to carry everything, there is an aldi 10km from the campground you can purchase dinner at.

What the club can possibly provide:

Pannier racks and bags for carrying your gear

Tents.

Camp stove. There are bbq’s at the campground but if you want a cup of soup or coffee you will need to bring a stove.

If you have any questions message me on facebook,

Cheers,
Mark G.
