For anyone who wants to give canyoning a try, Fortress Canyon is a short beginner level canyon. Check out the oz ultimate for a description and pics:

Thing you’ll need, these can all be borrowed from the club at Boree Log but if you have your own bring it so that there’s enough gear to go around.
- Wetsuit
- Helmet
- Harness
- Carabina
- Belay device
You’ll also need enclosed shoes and a backpack you’re willing to get wet. If you own a drybag it’ll prove very useful. Bring along some lunch to have at the end of the canyon, it has a pretty incredible view. The canyon has some long swims in it, so be prepared for some pretty chilly times.
We’ll leave from boree Sunday morning, canyon and then head straight back to Sydney. Fortress can be can quite quick, depending on how we go there is potential to do another on the way back to Sydney.
We already have two cars for this trip, so please only sign up if you don’t have a car or at least won’t be bringing it along to this canyon (so we can have two full cars and reserve any extra space for other boree log trips)
Any questions contact Chris Sharples and Liam Hayes (look under members on the UNSWOC facebook page).
