Greetings,
This trip will an intermediate/advanced canyon in the Mt Wilson area for people who are self-sufficient, have some experience canyoning, have a reasonable fitness level, and CAN SWIM.
A reminder of what self-sufficiency entails:
– Helmet, dry bag (in a bag), wetsuit, flotation device (optional), thermals, clothes, hat, enclosed footwear, food (brie and chocolate optional) and water.
If this list is news, you fail to meet the criteria for this trip of fun.
Plan at present is to do Bell creek canyon. It’s a long day with a decent walk in and sustained swim sections within the canyon. The guide book does suggest lilos but they are not compulsory. Alternatively, decent dry bags (i.e. not flimsy sea to summit bags) can also work as flotation devices. This canyon doesn’t have any abseils but in the case that the plan changes, you may want to bring a back up harness, descender and safety sling.
8 spots available.
