Hey Guys,
Chris and I (Chloe) will be leading a hiking trip from Berowra to Cowan via Berowra Waters this Saturday 20th September. We will be leaving Berowra station at 8:30am, so if you want to get the train please be on the 7:45am train from CENTRAL (the Newcastle line), and we will wait for that train to arrive before we leave.
We will be stopping at Berowra Waters for lunch – there is a lovely picnic spot as well as some pretty good gelato. The trip is open for all levels of experience, however please note this is a 13km walk which should take us around 6 hours. Once we get to Cowan station, you can then very easily get the train back to Berowra/wherever else you want to go. Easy!
YOU WILL REQUIRE:
1. ENCLOSED WALKING SHOES – as we will be walking 13km+ this is VITAL. You will also need thick socks (leeches after all this rain are the worst). No flip flops, crocs, sandals etc.
2. COMFORTABLE WALKING CLOTHES – as weather conditions may vary. Even in spring, UV levels are still high so collared t-shirts with sleeves are preferred over singlets. Please no jeans.
3. BACKPACK – to fit AT LEAST 2L of water, your lunch/snacks, sunscreen (at least SPF30+, but 50+ is better), a hat/sunglasses. You could share a backpack between a few people and take turns carrying it. 4. SWIMMERS – if you want to swim at Edenderry Falls
5. WET WEATHER GEAR – there’s been so much rain lately, that it’s just likely to happen. At least after some sunshine the track has dried up a bit now!
Most of this is BASIC bushwalking gear and can be easily acquired, but if you are having any trouble getting these or have any other questions please feel free to contact me using the comment section below, email me: chloe_paton@hotmail.com or text me: 0439 034 187. PLEASE READ ALL OF THE ABOVE
