Snowy Mountains Adventure

Join Suds and Alex on a Snowy Mountains adventure. What kind? We don’t quite know yet. Likely to be a snow shoe trip because, if you haven’t been paying attention to the snow conditions, there is effectively currently no snow. The long range forecast doesn’t look great for predicted snow fall so we really don’t know how much snow will actually be on the ground by the time this event rolls around. Right now my pessimistic view on snow conditions under foot is that there will be snow but not a lot.

This is a back country trip. We will not be in a ski resort. We will plan to stay at a back country hut over night so we have access to a nice space to hang out and have dinner but you are still expected to carry a 4 season tent. Do not expect a fancy European style alpine hut… Australian back country huts are basic and vary greatly in design, quality and facilities.

The trip is beginner friendly but the prerequisites for applying include:

• Ability to travel on Friday afternoon (it’s a 6 hour drive!)
• Overnight hiking experience
• Comfortable hiking approx. 15km per day
• Either have or are able to source the gear detailed on the gear list  (group gear excluded)
• You can bring snacks to share 😋

Note the club has limited amounts of snowshoes and 4 season tents. You may be required to either bring your own or hire gear.
