Organised by UTSOAC and in collaboration with SURMC and UNSW Bouldersoc, We present to you… PUBGAINE!
For those of you who don’t know what we’re on about, a PUBGAINE is a combination of ‘Pub-crawl’ and ‘Rogaine’. In the former, bevies are had. In the latter teams of 3-5 race around to collect Control Points with the aid of a map and compass. Combining these activities makes for a really good time!
The rules are simple. Each team is given a list of pubs and a map. Each pub is worth a designated number of points based roughly on the difficulty of reaching it. You are allowed to move by foot, or on public transport, but no cars, taxi’s, Uber’s, bicycles, skateboards, rollerblades, pogo sticks. Unicycles are permitted. The team must remain together at all times, splitting up to get to more pubs is a big no.

No Team? No worries. Add your name in the first column of the sheet. Otherwise, make sure to turn up between 5 and 5:45pm so we have time to get you sorted 🙂 You can also ask on the messenger chat HERE!
- We will meet at Camperdown Memorial Rest Park (5 min from Newtown Station) from 5 pm rain or shine
- The PUB-GAINE itself will begin at 6:30 pm. There will be a FREE BBQ and registration from 5 pm so come along at any time and get some food when you register. You’re welcome to come for just the BBQ as well!
- Rego will close at 6:20 before a mass start at 6:30. Maps will be handed out as you register your team.
- All teams must be back at Camperdown Memorial Rest Park no later than 9:30, and a penalty per minute late will be given. If you cannot make it in time after work/uni, you may join a team out on the course if you get them to register on your behalf.
Why not increase your team’s points and go for a bonus?
1. Each team member wears a head torch, you may turn it off when entering a venue (+20 points)
2. Each team member wears a helmet (+10 points)
3. A team member wears a climbing harness the whole night without taking it off (+15 points)
4. At least one team member wears merch from any of the collaborating clubs (+15 points)
