Advanced Abseiling

I’d like to start running regular technical workshops this semester, especially getting into some self rescue stuff and guiding-style techniques for trip leaders.

Let’s try for next wednesday to start. This is aimed at people with previous experience (two star canyoners and climbers) who want to become more confident as trip leaders and on their own trips.

To start we’ll go over single rope techniques for canyoning – the stone knot and reepschnur method – and if we have time I’d like people to try tandem rappelling with an “injured” partner.

Bring a headlamp – If it’s dark cold and raining, so much the better for realism!
