Need a chill day on Sunday after a hard day’s night?
Is your idea of exercise floating down a river?
Just signed up to the club for sweet Instagram photos?
If you answered yes to any of these questions then have I got the trip for you.
Me (Nadav), Scott and Ben’s plan is to drive up the the Hampden Bridge in Town and float/walk/swim down the Kangaroo River it on lilos back to the campsite. This does still require some fitness to walk in and out to the river and to swim in the river. But in the grand scheme of club trips it’s a chill (but longish day)
******** YOU ABSOLUTELY MUST BE ABLE TO SWIM ***********
Some of the gear is pretty mandatory so pay attention:
- Wetsuit*
- Lunch + snack(s)
- 1-2L of water (complete with bottle)
- Dry bag to hold stuff that needs to stay dry, like camera, lunch and change of clothes (these can be bought for like $10 from K-mart). You’ll want one with 10-20L capacity
- Undies to wear under wetsuit
- Change of socks (ideally one pair woollen)
- Board shorts or other shorts to protect the butt of the wetsuit
- Shoes to get wet
- Small backpack to hold everything (it will get wet)
- Waterproof camera (if ya have one)
PS. You must be approved for Boree Log to attend this trip!
Meeting point is Sunday morning at the campsite. Come say hi to me on Saturday night if you’re approved for this trip!
