This is the sign up form for the learning to lock off your descender workshop I’ll be running at the ledge!

(Please not that you MUST be signed up to the ledge as well)

What does Locking off mean?! In simple terms we’ll be learning how to stop yourself mid-abseil in a way that you can take you hands off the rope and do things mid abseil. Additionally, I will show how to add friction to the rope while abseiling

During this session we will:

  • When you might need to adjust friction/lock off
  • How to lock off and adjust friction
  • Probably some other canyoning techniques if we have time

What you’ll need.

  • your descender/belay device of choice
  • Harness
  • Two locking carabiners minimum
  • It will be highly beneficial if you have a figure 8 device or other canyoning device

We’ll aim to start at 6:30 and then just keep going until everyone feels confident!
