Hello fellow bike riders,
Elliott Vercoe and I (Oliver) are planning to run a morning ride from the city to Olympic Park to introduce some club members to the joys of road cycling. Its very flat and 75% cycle ways which should be super fun. We will go fairly early in the morning to avoid as much traffic (car and pedestrian) as possible and to be back at a reasonable time of the day.
This this the route we have come up with and we think it is a pretty great route for all skill levels:

We will meet on the Pyrmont bridge at 8am so that should be easy enough for everyone to get too either ride there or train etc. If you need to drive let me know and we can arrange to meet you somewhere you can park.
The turn around point is Wentworth Point but if people are feeling good the path continues to Paramatta along the river so we will make that call on the day.
What to bring (these should all be fairly obvious):
- Yourself,
- A working bike,
- A helmet,
- A water bottle on your bike,
- A snack like a muesli bar,
- Usual bike attire (inc closed toe shoes),
- Any spares/tools you usually carry,
- Maybe a card or some cash for a café stop.
Please have your bike in working condition, I will bring some tools but am riding from Turramurra so am not keen to carry too many extras. If you need help setting/fixing up your bike please let me know ahead of time so we can sort it out.
Please comment where your starting from (roughly) and if you have a drop bar bike or not.
Any questions please message Elliott or I.
