Hello there!
Come join us for a beginner-friendly snowshoeing weekend! No prior experience needed, just a general level of fitness and enthusiasm for light suffering 🙂 What is snowshoeing you ask? Well, it’s attaching big flat things to our feet and go hiking on the snow.
The Plan:
Friday the 6th we will carpool down from Sydney all packed and ready to go and meet in Jindabyne by 1pm. In Jindabyne, we will rent snowshoes ($69) and winter bags ($55) if you need one from Wilderness Sports. We can also stop by the supermarket and buy food for the following days.
From Jindabyne, we will drive up to Guthega Power station to park and embark our hike for the first day, stopping to camp at Horsecamp hut (3.83km)
Saturday the 7th we will walk to Schlink Hut for lunch (7.35km) and then to Disappointment Spur hut to camp (4.31km).
Sunday the 8th we will have a lazy morning and return to the cars by lunchtime so you aren’t too tired for the long drive home (or to keep your driver company)

Please leave a comment on your experience level, car status, suburb you live in (for easy car pooling) favourite snow cone flavour and what gear you need when you sign up. People with cars get priority and then people who leave comments, and lastly, those with no comment will be left behind… A Facebook chat will be set up once numbers are confirmed to organise carpooling.
