When 30 people take a hike

Yesterday (15th February 2025) we ran a trip to introduce new and prospective members to the club. My motivation behind organising this was that O-Week (UNSW's Orientation Week) is where most people discover the club, and a similar social climbing event last year had great response. This trip was also organised as a more social hike - everyone gets to meet other new club members and hopefully make a couple friends 😀

The track chosen was Engadine to Loftus via Audley - accessible by public transport, lovely waterhole at the bottom (and because Royal National Park has a group size limit of 40).

Due to train strikes on the day I was worried about the turnout, but almost everyone persevered through and we ended up with a 28 people group! Special thanks to Amelia V for the support in organising this and Grant, Micah, and Leo J for helping manage the trip.

I had great fun, looks like everyone else enjoyed too, and it was great meeting so many new people! It's definitely worth making this a recurring thing 🥳
