The Boree Log is a club tradition dating back over 50 years! It's our twice annual camp held somewhere around Sydney and all club members are invited to come - the more the merrier!
Most people arrive on the Friday night and set up camp. On Saturday various activities are run such as canyoning, bushwalking, canoeing and climbing depending on the chosen location.
Saturday night is the big one, it's a club tradition for everyone to wear a costume some of sort to match a theme (you can get something suitable for $15 from your local opshop…) and eat a nice dinner.

What to bring?

For many people the Boree Log is their first camping trip. With this in mind we've created a packing list. Please have a careful read over it before asking any questions. We just don't have the time to answer hundreds of questions which could be answered by reading this list. If you ask a question which could be answered by reading this list your email will be DELETED.

Getting There

If you want to come to the Boree Log, you need to organise your own transport to the camp. There are far too many people coming to Boree Log and far to many other things to look after for the exec to make sure everybody has a car spot.
To find a spot in a car going to Boree Log, keep your eyes on the facebook and post messages yourself.
If you are driving to Boree Log, please be a good sport and try to fill up your car - it'll keep your petrol costs down.
In both cases make sure you bring the directions and map posted and emailed by the exec to make sure that there is at least one copy in each car.

Sometimes a bus or pick ups from the nearest train station are offered, but it is your own responsibility to organise a spot on either and be on the right train at the right time. DON'T ASSUME that there is a spot for you without confirming it in advance with the organisers.

Cost?

You will be paying pretty much exactly for what you are getting. The club does not make any money from Boree Log. The costs you are looking at:

  • Transport:
petrol money for the driver of your car - $10-20
train fare and petrol money for the pick up from the train station - $15-25
    bus - $25-30
  • Food
whatever you spend at the supermarket to feed yourself for a whole weekend
drinks - bring more than you need and sell the rest
  • Camping Fees- $0-10 per night
