You can pay your membership fee online using PayPal (accepts card) or in person with cash. You will still have to meet an exec member in person to collect your club card. There is also a membership grant for experienced trip leaders.
You can choose a 6 month or 1 year membership. There is a discount if you are a UNSW Student, Staff or Alumni.

Your membership period begins when you pay. It will end exactly after one year/six months has passed. Eg. If you join in April with a one year membership, it will expire April next year.

Paying by cash
You need to meet with an exec member to pay by cash. The most convenient places/events to do this are:
- O-Week Stall: The club runs a stall during every O-Week. Come and visit us to find out everything you want to know, join the club and meet some of the current members.
- Welcome BBQ: Every semester we have an Intro BBQ with free food and very cheap drinks to welcome everyone new and old. Check our facebook page for the event details.
- Gear Night
- The Ledge, Thursday Nights from 6pm: Every Thursday night, club members climb for $5 at The Ledge climbing gym at Sydney Uni. Some people join only for this! During semester there is always an exec member of the club climbing at the Ledge between 6pm and 8.30pm on Thursday, so come on down. Just ask the people at the desk to point out an exec member to sign you up.
Getting your club card
The club card is proof of your membership so you can get those discounts.
You can get your club card from an exec member at the same places listed above in 'Paying by cash'. Just make sure to bring some proof of your membership, either:
- showing them your 'My Account page' on this website, or
- your PayPal receipt to UNSWOC.
Experienced Trip Leader membership grant
This grant subsidies an experienced trip leader’s membership for the trimester in which they lead at least one trip for the club.
Conditions:
- Grant is only available to experienced Trip Leaders that have been consistently leading trips for more than 2 years.
- The applicant must lead at least one trip in the trimester to qualify for the grant.
- Successful applicants will be granted 4 months membership paid for by the Club.
- If the Trip Leader’s membership has less than 4 months remaining their membership period will be extended by 4 months. The idea being your membership does not have to lapse to claim the grant.
- This benefit does not accumulate. Eg. You cannot lead two trips in one trimester to gain two trimesters of membership.
- The outcome of all applications will be determined by the Executive.
