Happy Easter Outdoor Lovers,

On the weekend of 22-23 April, Chris and Tristan will be leading a two-day hike through one of the best sections of the Great North Walk. This section begins at Berowra Train Station in Sydney and finishes at Brooklyn Train Station on the Hawkesbury river the next day. The walk is great for first-time multi-day bushwalkers, but a good level of fitness is required. There are some sections with steep climbs up and down which are challenging when carrying your own pack.

The plan is to meet at Berowra Train Station at 9.30am on Saturday (or catching public transport together from UNSW), and then walk to a Ridge Top Campsite, via Berowra Waters. On Day 2, we will head into Kuringai National Park and walk towards Brooklyn, where we will finish the day at the famous pub, The Angler’s Rest. We will then get the train back from here.

This walk is being proposed in part as a trial for the the new not-for-profit hiking charity called Emu Trekkers (www.emutrekkers.org). So you will get lots of information along the way and can give us some feedback afterwards.
