On Sunday, 27th April, members of UTS and UNSWOC came together for an awesome Giant Slip N Slide day at Narrabeen Lagoon and what a day it was!
We kicked things off around 9:30 AM, setting up the massive slip n slide on a sandy hill by the lagoon. The first slide location worked well but got a little boring after a while, so we shifted gears. We rebuilt the slide in a new spot and even used a shovel to craft a small ramp, letting folks catch a bit of air for extra thrills.
After about an hour of sliding, we fired up the barbecue for a classic lunch of sausages, bread, and snacks, then got right back to the action, racing down the improved slide and enjoying the sunny day.
Come midday, some folks wandered over to the lagoon opening, where an excavator had just opened the lagoon to the ocean, creating a rush of water that became an unexpected bonus playground for a few adventurous participants.
Aside from one finger injury and a few light friction burns from sand, it was an incredible, laughter-filled day for everyone.
We’re already excited for the next slip n slide adventure — maybe with even more sausages and more next time!
