Therefore for the PLB to be useful, before every trip, you must add your trip details and your own emergency contact(s) to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.beacons.amsa.gov.au\/\">your PLB at the AMSA website<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-d0871a45b9f0fb8c323bb223a1dd17d4\" style=\"color:#ff0000\">If you are a Trip Leader and logged in, you will see the club's AMSA logins and a how-to video here:<br> (redacted). <br>If this is incorrect, or you otherwise need the login details, please contact one of the Exec.\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Log in and select \u2018<strong>Add my trip details<\/strong>\u2019. Find your club beacon in the list (UNSWOC01-UNSWOC08). <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enter clear information about your trip detailing:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Date(s) of trip<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Name of destination (canyon\/crag etc.) or journey description<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Location description, nearest road and suburb<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Latitude and Longitude of Destination (google maps and sixmaps can give you this)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Number of party members<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Food\/water supplies carried<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Upload a map of your intended route (which you should have as a prepared trip leader!)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hit \u2018Save\u2019<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Under \u2018Emergency Contacts\u2019 tab hit \u2018<strong>Add new emergency contact<\/strong>\u2019 (please remove emergency contacts that are not the Safety Officer or another Exec member as they are from a previous trip). Enter their name and number and hit save. Send\/leave a copy of your trip description (written in step 4) with this emergency contact.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Allocate your PLB to the emergency contact. If you cannot find your PLB, go to the `Beacons` tab and find your beacon, remove an existing contact (maximum 3) and add your own. Always have 3 contacts there as backups.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The night before your trip, you will receive an automatic email with your trip details.
