SUMMARY:Whirlpool Canyon
DESCRIPTION:This Sunday I'll be heading to Whirlpool Canyon. It's an interm
 ediate level canyon near Mt Wilson (Cathedral of Ferns). I haven't been be
 fore\, but it sounds like a good trip.\n\nTrip cap is between 4 and 6\, de
 pending on how many people are willing to drive (let me know if you can). 
 Prior abseiling and canyoning experience is essential. If I haven't canyon
 ed with you before\, let me know about your canyoning experience.\n\nBring
  all the usual canyoning gear\, including a wetsuit and lilo. If someone i
 s able to borrow ropes from the locker\, that would be great (I can't make
  gear nights).\n\nWe'll aim to leave Cathedral of Ferns around 8:30am (to 
 be confirmed). Sunset is at 6pm so bring your head torch!\n\n\n\n&nbsp\;\n
 \nTrack notes:\nGrade 5. One long day. Abseils up to 25m. Walk from Mt Wil
 son Fire Station to the Wollangambe\, and up the Geronimo Canyon entry tr
 ack. Enter the creek around GR 529921 (Wollangambe). Exit by following the
  Wollangambe downstream to where you entered. There are some long swims in
  the Wollangambe (bring lilos).
