 \nAs we pass the winter solstice\, it's too cold to do anything else\, the
  only option left is to go underground! It's time for our annual Caving Pa
 looza.\n\nWhile Bungonia is lovely with much still to explore we thought a
 n investigation of Wee Jasper is in order.\n\nThis event suits participant
 s of all levels and will includes caving trips through some horizontal &am
 p\; vertical caves\, camping and hiking!\n\n&nbsp\;\n\n**General schedule 
 runs as follows: Trips run on Saturday and Sunday starting between 9am -10
 am. Due to the distance from Sydney\, most folks arrive Friday evening and
  depart Sunday afternoon.\n\nSign Up Instructions\nDue to the number of pe
 ople coming to Wee Japper-looza\, there are a few steps to signing up. Ple
 ase read carefully in order to make sure you get what you want out of the 
 weekend.\n\nBookings for the main event will open on Monday 7th July at 8:
 30pm. Individual trips will be released for sign up the following week. \
 n\n 	\n\n 	Sign up for this trip on the UNSWOC page! Make sure in your boo
 king to include the following –\n\n 	your name\, facebook link and/or ph
 one number\n 	skill level (see below) – any previous caving / climbing /
  rope experience. Please be honest\, if you'd like to upskill there will b
 e opportunities coming up at the ledge.\n 	Pertinent medical issues\,\n 	i
 f you have a car\, and ANSWER THE SECRET QUESTION IN THIS POST. YOU WILL N
 OT BE ACCEPTED WITHOUT IT.\n 	Wee Japper-looza is in high demand and you w
 ill not be accepted unless you follow these instructions!\n\n\n 	Have a lo
 ok at the trips offered below and your skill level and decide which trips 
 (+ backups) you want to go on. These will be released as individual trips 
 in about a week.\n 	Sign up for ONE Saturday and ONE Sunday trip. If y
 ou do not get accepted on your first choice trip then you may sign up for 
 a different one. (Same format as Boree Log!). You must be signed up to th
 is main event to sign up to individual trips\n 	Car pooling etc will be or
 ganised through this LINK (link will be available once people have signed 
 up)\n 	Pack your gear and come caving!!\n\n\n\n&nbsp\;\nCamping:\n\n 	Camp
 ing Fees: The club has very kindly agreed to cover a portion of the campin
 g fee for this weekend. Please bring $10 cash to cover the remaining porti
 on.\n 	Camp facilities include: flushing toilets\, showers and hot water a
 vailable at the campsite\n 	Campfires ARE permitted in the provided fire p
 its. If you'd like a fire\, please bring firewood.\n 	The campsite is roug
 hly a 5 hour drive from Sydney\, (all paved roads). Please take it slow ne
 ar Wee Jasper\, there are a lot of roos &amp\; wombats on the road. Best t
 o arrive 20 mins later than have to cancel the whole weekend.\n 	IT WILL B

 \nSkill levels:\n  \n\n\nBeginner\n\n\nWhat is a cave? what is a rope? You
  might not know but you are keen to find out! May require scrambling.\n\n\
 n\nIntermediate\n\n\nMaybe you’ve been caving before. Maybe you haven’
 t\, but you’ve been lead climbing or canyoning or have other rope skills
  and experience at heights.\n\n\n\nAdvanced\n\n\nYou have experience ascen
 ding ropes in caves – jumarring or prussicking\n\n\n\n\n&nbsp\;\nPlanned
  Trips:\n(Roughly in order of difficulty)\n\nIndividual signup links here!
 \n   \n\n\nSignature Cave\n\nSaturday &amp\; Sunday\nBeginner – anyone f
 it can come.\nThe areas Signature cave if the name is anything to go by.\n
 \n\nGong Cave\n\nSaturday &amp\; Sunday\nBeginner – must be comfortable 
 with scrambling\n\n\nLadder in and out of this smaller dip style cave with
 out that pesky ropework. Plenty of pretty formation still to see.\n\n\n\nD
 ip Cave\n\nSaturday &amp\; Sunday (both Intermediate &amp\; Advanced)\nInt
 ermediate – people with rope experience preferred. Abseiling Only!\n\n&n
 bsp\;\n\nAdvanced – people with rope experience preferred. Ascending &a
 mp\; Descending\n\n\nA series of 5 parallel caves that link in places allo
 wing travel between them. While there is a walk in entrance it is currentl
 y closed\, meaning this cave will involve abseiling in and ascending out. 
 Many great formations\, scrambling\, squeezing if that tickles your fancy.
 \n\n\n\nPunchbowl Cave\n\n2 Groups on Saturday &amp\; 1 group on Sunday\n\
 n*Same booking form for both groups on Saturday\nAdvanced – people with 
 rope experience preferred. Ascending &amp\; Descending\n\n\nThis abseil i
 n and ascend out cave features a huge network of passages and chambers wit
 h many a chance to test your navigation prowess and map reading skills. It
  has huuuuuge chambers\, dust\, guano(definitely a feature)\, squeezes\, s
 lides\, climbs and fairly pretty chandeliers.\nThe adventure park of caves
 !\n\n\n\nBushwalk\n\nSUNDAY ONLY\nBeginner – anyone fit can come.\nYou'l
 l get to see the sun.\n\n\n\n&nbsp\;\n\n&nbsp\;\nTHE GEAR:\n\n 	Caving rel
 ated gear will be advised on the page for each day trip (largely can be bo
 rrowed from the club)\n 	For camping\, the advised gear includes:\n\n 	TEN
 T (unless you want to snuggle with some possums)\n 	WARM SLEEPING BAG (or 
 two) - Wee Jasper will be sub-zero at night\n 	If your left foot had to ha
 ve a name\, what would it be? Tell us in your sign up comment.\n 	SLEEPING
  MAT (or two) - This keeps you insulated from the cold ground!\n 	WARM CLO
 THES and second pair of clean shoes for the evening. Thermals\, woollens a
 re great!\n 	Shower / toiletries\n 	Large plastic/garbage bag for dirty ca
 ve gear to protect your drivers' car.\n 	FOOD FOR THE WEEKEND (2x breakfas
 t\, 2x lunch and 1x dinner!)\n 	IMPLEMENTS TO COOK/EAT SAID FOOD\, there a
 re BBQ's but no kitchen at the camp site.\n 	There is drinking water avail
 able from the campsite\, but the fountain doesn’t always work. Would rec
 ommend bringing your own water just in case (5L per person).\n\n\n\n*These
  can be borrowed from the gear cupboard. If you need any camping related e
 quipment\, you will need to go to the gear cupboard and borrow them yourse
 lf. \nGet keen for a weekend of cave crazy adventures\, see you there!\n
