SUMMARY:Tigersnake Canyon - Beginners Trip
DESCRIPTION:Hey!\n\nStephen and I (Oliver) are leading a trip on (Friday ni
ght and) Saturday through Tigersnake canyon!\n\nTiger Snake Canyon is a na
rrow\, twisting tributary on the Newnes Plateau. It features two constrict
ions and a couple of abseils.. The lower is deep\, dark and spectacular.\n
\n\n\nMore info and pics can be found here: ozultimate.com/…ack_notes/ti
ger_snake.htm\n\nThis is a dry canyon so don't expect to get too wet\, but
expect at least wet feet/legs. It will still be chilly however so bring w
arm clothes. e.g. Thermals beneath your clothes with a rain jacket on top.
\n\nIt’s alright if you have not abseiled before\, we can show you the r
opes but please indicate in the comment box whether you have abseiled befo
re and how experienced you are\, we will try have a balance of people so t
hat we won't be too slow.\n\nPlease fill out the form when you sign up and
comment with your experience (if you don’t have rope skills\, just comm
ent what other outdoor activities you have done) whether you have access t
o a car and your favourite outdoors snack (preferably also bring it to the
canyon 😀)!\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nTiming:\n\nThe plan is to leave Sydney Friday
night\, camp at a small campground near the carpark for the glow worm tun
nel OR drive out in the morning. The campground (-33.254089\, 150.217761)
is kind of hard to find but drive to that point and you should see cars pa
rked on the left or at least some spots to park if you're first out there\
, if you enter the tunnel you have gone too far its a couple of hundred me
ters back. Then walk down the track 100 meters or so and the spot is there
. I will try be the first there but note there is no reception there so pl
ease let me know if you plan on camping in the comments!\n\nWe will meet a
t the old coach road carpark at 10am Saturday to do a gear check before se
tting off. Its a 5-7h canyon so expect to be back at the cars around dusk
and as such we cannot start late!\n\nWe are car dependant at the moment so
if you own/have access to a car (that can go on unpaved roads) please ple
ase please let us know!\n\nWhat you need:\n\n harness*\n helmet*\n Prus
 ik + biner*\n safety + biner*\n Figure 8 device (or similar) + biner*\n
